This week, month, and year...

So I find myself once again trying to update the blog. This year I decided that I wanted to really keep my resolutions. Instead of just coming up with a huge list of things that I thought I needed to do I decided to really think about my resolutions. I have spent the last couple of weeks coming up with some resolutions that I think that I really need in my life and that are doable. So instead of starting my resolutions on January 1st like every other normal person I am starting them this week. My resolutions are: 1. Read my scriptures every day. 2. Exercise 4-5 times a week for at least 30 minutes 3. Go to the temple monthly and 4. Journal. I thought blogging would kill two birds with one stone because I could journal and keep track of myself on how I am doing on my other resolutions.

Now to move on from the boring stuff... Life in our house has been filled with sickness. Hopefully everybody is getting over their colds and returning to full health. I do think an epidemic hit our ward though because there looked like only half as many people as usually come were there. It looks like it wasn't just our family that was under the weather.

Part of the reason that I wanted to blog/journal was so that I could remember all the sweet, funny, cute things that my little monkey does. Now that he is returning to health he is back to his silly old self.

He definitely keeps things entertaining where ever he goes. He is the biggest tease. He has decided that hiding and then jumping out and saying "Boo!" is about the best game ever. He loves cars and points out all the cars on the road when we drive in the car. He also loves animals and loves to tell you what all the animals sounds are. Feeding the fish with dad is one of his favorite activities. I swear he is going to be an engineer because he likes to take things apart (like caps off pens, etc.). He also is a pro at removing batteries. If something is battery operated, he can have the back off and the batteries removed in two seconds flat. He can also say battery. Speaking of words that he can say... battery, mom, dad, baba, dog, car, ball, vroom, quack quack, grandma, grandpa, cookie, cracker, cheese, juice, please, more, down, no, uh oh, boom, boo, moo, duck, book and probably more! Sure do love this little guy!

Another adventure that I am enjoying right now is home ownership. In September Matt and I purchased a lovely multi level house that was built in 1990.

It is a great house and we love it but it needs some work. For example, a week after we moved in there was a rain storm and we woke up to the roof leaking! Luckily we were able to get it fixed without having to replace the whole roof... But a couple of weeks ago there was a strong windstorm and it blew part of our fence down. Pretty much every wall needs to have holes patched and be repainted. And just this week the toilet in our master bath broke. It wasn't serious but it is hard to sleep when there is water running all the time. Currently the water to the toilet is turned off until we can get a replacement part. Some days I miss being a renter...
